£100,000 funding boost for University’s dementia research

Pioneering dementia research has been given a boost of £100,000 from the charity Alzheimer’s Research UK in a bid to improve the lives of the 830,000 people in the UK living with dementia.

 

The University’s School of Pharmacy recently published finding suggesting a possible protective role for carbon monoxide in Alzheimer’s.

 

Lecturer in Cellular and Molecular Neuroscience at the University of Reading’s School of Pharmacy, Dr Mark Dallas, said: “Reading is undertaking cutting-edge research to combat the diseases that cause dementia.» >
