Why should you try Ultimate Frisbee?

It’s something new and a great way to meet amazing people.

What have you learnt from playing Ultimate Frisbee?

Everything I’ve done for the club has been about investing in something bigger than myself.

Favourite Frisbee memory:

Qualifying for division 1 nationals and having the pleasure of being a captain of the team.

Why should you try Ultimate Frisbee?:

It’s the best, highly energetic game there is, super easy to pick up. There’s nothing else quite like it!

What have you learnt from playing Ultimate Frisbee?

Many team based skills. In sports teamwork is key, but in Ultimate if you have no teamwork, you have no team.

What have you learnt from playing Ultimate Frisbee? 

Being part of a team is important and has made my whole university experience better.

Going to women’s nationals with no subs and beating a good Surrey team after a night out.

Why should you try Ultimate Frisbee?

You’ve got nothing to lose. It’s the best way to meet friends and you can take time away from studies to relax and learn something new.

What have you learnt from playing Ultimate Frisbee? 

Perseverance when I couldn’t throw a forehand at the start, and how great it is feeling part of a team.

Favourite Frisbee memory:

Mixed outdoor nationals will always be my favourite! It’s lots of fun on and off the pitch.

Why should you try Ultimate Frisbee? 

Not only is it an incredibly fun sport, but also one of the most welcoming communities I have come across, with opportunities to meet lots of new people!

What have you learnt from playing Ultimate Frisbee?

Regardless of whether you have any previous sporting experience, university is a place where you can try something new and be welcomed with open arms.

Favourite Frisbee memory:

Wingin’ it 2017; we host our own outdoor tournament to end the year. A weekend full of frisbee and socials was the perfect way to finish off the year!

Why should you try Ultimate Frisbee?

 It’s such a relaxed, fun environment with the opportunity to improve and push yourself whilst keeping fit and meeting amazing new people.

What have you learnt from playing Ultimate Frisbee?

It’s not as simple as throwing a frisbee on the beach or for a dog. I’ve learnt all the rules for a new sport, and women are just as valuable on the pitch as men.

Favourite Frisbee memory:

My first woman’s outdoor tournament. Successfully got a turnover, purple arm, and a point all in a few minutes.

Why should you try Ultimate Frisbee?

 It’s fun and easy to get into as a beginner, yet accommodates competitive and highly skilled players. Whether you are just looking at getting fit, socialising, or play a team sport, Frisbee has it all.

What have you learnt from playing Ultimate Frisbee? 

Teaching: how to better explain concepts and it’s helped me get in shape.

Favourite Frisbee memory: 

Representing Reading Ultimate women’s 1st team against some of the top teams in the country who voted me ‘Most Valuable Player’ in two separate matches in the same tournament.

Why should you try Ultimate Frisbee?

It’s all-inclusive yet challenging, intense, and skilful. Pushing hard with encouraging team-mates combined with a friendly and welcoming social life like no other provides the perfect opportunity to make the best memories you’ll have.

What have you learnt from playing Ultimate Frisbee?

Don’t be afraid to try something new and persevere with it; you never know what you will discover and who you will meet.

Favourite Frisbee memory: Hard-Core Week 4, a tough yet rewarding week spending so much time together as a squad, building friendships and supporting each other through challenges, early morning training, socials, and games.
