Reindeer On A Train

You know it is nearly Christmas when Father Christmas’s reindeer turn up!

Two of Father Christmas’s adorable little helpers were spotted at the Reading station earlier this week. That’s right a couple of red-nosed reindeer from The Reindeer Hire Company was on site with Dasher and Dancer – or was it Comet and Cupid – and an owl seen on Tuesday at the station helping commuters get into the festive spirit. Workers from Network Rail worked with the furry friends to raise awareness of travelling around Christmas, handing out leaflets warning passengers of planned closures and affected routes.

The animals certainly caused a commotion amongst passengers and excitable children with many taking photographs and selfies before continuing on their journeys home for the holidays. A few carrots were also awarded to the reindeer for pulling in the crowds which were highly appreciated.

If you are travelling home for Christmas be aware that the route between Reading and London Paddington will not run on Christmas Eve or on Wednesday, December 27 with reduced services between Thursday, December 28 and Sunday, December 31. However, normal Bank Holiday services are expected to resume by Monday, January 1.
