UK: ‘no consensus’ on Drugs in Afghanistan, but other progress made.

The NATO committee introduced working paper 1.1, in which more troops were promised to Afghanistan.

The Italian delegate put forward that there was no border posts to prevent human or drug smuggling and no clause to prevent drug smuggling.

The US reassured the Committee it is serious on drugs but does not support quite that radical a proposal to help to stymie the flow of drugs out of Afghanistan. However, the US does support the microcredits scheme if it will help to bring about more lawfulness in Afghanistan.
