Review of ‘The Part That No One Knows’ by Pinact

After the successful release of their fantastic 2015 debut album, Stand Still and Riot, to say I had high expectations for Pinact’s next album would be an understatement. As soon as I heard that The Part That No One Knows has been released, I opened up Spotify and listened to the entire thing front to back, and needless to say I was not disappointed at all— the Glaswegian trio delivered what I expected and more.

The album has the same grunge-with-a-hint-of-punk vibes and the cool, melodic vocals. Lead singer and guitarist Corrie Gillies has a voice that somehow captures those sad and angsty teen emotions with which we’re all familiar. It’s hard to pick a favourite from this album, but my personal recommendations are ‘Seams’ and ‘Separate Ways.’ The latter has a killer guitar riff at the start which I’m just in love with.

If you’re a fan of old school grunge and punk, you’ll love The Part That No One Knows.
