On the weekend of 9th-10th November, the Reading Rocs Quidditch team travelled to Oxford to compete against 15 of the best Quidditch teams in the country at the inaugural British Quidditch Cup.
The rules of “Muggle Quidditch” don’t stray far from the game detailed in the Harry Potter books. There are 7 players of mixed gender: 3 Chasers, 2 Beaters, a Keeper and a Seeker.
Chasers try to shoot the quaffle (a volleyball) through one of the opponent’s three hoops. Beaters throw bludgers (dodgeballs) at their opponents to break up attacks by sending them back to their hoops.» >Read More »
