Reading stands against ‘gay concentration camps’ in Chechnya

Reading Pride, in collaboration with Reading Labour Party, has organised a Solidarity Vigil starting today at 5pm in Reading’s Market Place. The event aims at showing solidarity with the detained men in Chechnya, who are allegedly being confined in ‘concentration camps’, and then killed either by their own families or the government of Chechnya.

The Vigil aims to encourage the local and national authorities to take measures in international organisations that aim to stop the atrocity that the international press has been denouncing for the past weeks. The event will count with the participation of speakers Paul Britt and Katie Philips, from Reading Pride, and Olivia Bailey, from Reading Labour Party.
